Prior to joining Doris I worked for several years within the Sales industry, eventually progressing to a senior Account Management role within a major international mobile phone network. The role required me to manage a base of 80+ small-medium sized businesses and help to them shape and deliver digital solutions to help meet specific business goals.
I found it really rewarding to help businesses transform and decided that this was the part of the role that I enjoyed, rather that the sales specifically. So after some reflection I decided I wanted to put my business knowledge to use within the IT industry and Doris felt like the perfect route for me.
Working for Doris IT has given me to opportunity to further develop my existing skills such as stakeholder management, organisation, and communication skills, and has allowed me to learn new skills/qualifications with the support of the Doris Mentors and Trainers, whilst also building up a strong professional network through the placements I have been on so far in a number of Financial Services organisations in the North West.
Currently I am working as a Junior Project Manager on an GDPR Compliance Project within a High Street Retailer, this has involved me using my communication skills to work with stakeholders across the business to find out how Personal Data flows throughout their business, understand where their current risks lie, and propose solutions to these risks.
