I joined Doris as an IT Apprentice (Level 3). My role as a desktop analyst involved delivering and supporting technology to colleagues on a daily basis. As stated by my line manager I played a 'vital role' within the team and contributed to daily objectives.
The role of my team is crucial to the workings of the business, whether it's solving problems at head office or regionally, we provide services that colleagues rely on, ranging from fixing laptops to mobile phone issues. I decided to apply for an apprenticeship because of the opportunities they offer, not only do you gain the priceless work experience, you also gain qualifications. I have since moved and I am now working at The General Medical Council specialising as an IS Support Engineer.
